Liverpool Cafe Owner Receives Much-Deserved Community Award

Utter top bloke Anthony Grice, the owner of FIKA cafe in Liverpool, has been awarded The UK Openreach Community Connectors Award to recognise his work serving the community during the pandemic!

Over all three lockdowns, FIKA has provided an essential service to those in South Liverpool and outside the city. The cafe was turned into a community hub and has provided parcels for the vulnerable, distributed donated toys to struggling families at Christmas, and even funded Christmas dinners.

After Marcus Rashford complained about the government’s food parcels’ poor quality, Andy promised that anyone who received one of these boxes would have them replaced by FIKA. Andy began to struggle mentally with the pressure of his campaigns and eventually decided to stop delivering parcels, but that does not diminish how much he has done for the people of Liverpool during a challenging year. As he says;

“Helping people is the right thing to do, and no-one should be going hungry.”

Legend.
