Micro Funding Liverpool Projects

Do you have a fabulous idea but you haven’t got the spondoolies to take it to the next level? Micro-funding is fast becoming a way for creatives, event organisers, inventors…anyone with an idea really…to get some much needed funding for their projects. Take a look at these four organisations that provide funding for projects and charities in the Liverpool area.

Awesome Liverpool

In their own words Awesome Liverpool are ‘a bunch of regular scousers’ who donate money every month that then goes towards funding projects that make a difference around the Liverpool City Region. Past projects that have received funding include a community Christmas dinner, Incredible Edible Knowsley (who give out seedlings to the community to encourage people to grow their own vegetables) and ROOT-ed, a magazine for creatives of colour in the North-West. If you have a project that you think they would be interested in funding then why not get in touch?

Liverpool SOUP

Liverpool Soup is a non-profit that is Liverpool’s answer to Dragon’s Den but less scary and with added soup! They run four events a year where people can learn about the inspiring projects taking place in and around Liverpool and how you can support them. When you make a donation on the door your money earns you a vote (and a bowl of soup). After you have heard all the presentations, you vote on your favourite and the project with the most votes is awarded 100% of the donations made on the door. So, whether you want to pitch your amazing idea or would like to donate some money to supporting innovative new projects, get in touch with Liverpool Soup to find out more.

Art Collection Liverpool

Art Collection Liverpool is a community fund that aims to raise money to support artists in the Liverpool region. When you join you give just £1 per week to the fund which translates into a grant for a local creative. The grant can go towards anything from materials, renting studio space, gigs or exhibitions. Their hope is that if there are 500 people giving they can raise £500 per week. All from £1 donation!! Members nominate local artists to receive a £500 micro-grant and the decision on who to award the grant to is made by the givers by casting their vote in a poll. If you would like to become a giver or want to find out more about how to put yourself forward for a grant, then visit their website.
