“Very Public Art” To Bring New Artwork Across The City

Very Public Art liverpool

Locations around Liverpool will soon be getting an artistic makeover courtesy of a series of new art commissions as part of a new campaign called Very Public Art. These pieces of art will showcase the local artistic community and will pop up in various venues over the next few months.

St Nicholas Parish Church is the location for ‘And These Birds Can Sing’, the first art work in the campaign. This installation features brightly coloured bird -boxes made by The Birdcage Stage CIC from wood salvaged from Strawberry Fields. These form a sound, art and nature trail which celebrates women’s voices. The soundtrack is provided by We Want Women, Hope Street Harmonies and Singing Mamas Choir.

‘And These Birds Can Sing’ will be at St Nicholas Parish Church until the 15th August, after which more artworks will be landing at different venues around the city throughout the rest of August and September. All the installations are outside and free. Bonus!
