‘Do you hear the people sing?’
The people of Liverpool soon will, when the hugely popular musical Les Miserables returns to the Liverpool Empire in January 2022. The new, updated production of Les Miserables was first produced in 2009 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this iconic musical. The current production opened in London’s West End in January 2020 (not great timing!) and will re-open there at the Sondheim Theatre in September 2021 following a run of the staged concert version.
The new production retains all the well-known wonderful songs of the original with new staging and scenery. The tour of the new production has been incredibly well received by audiences across the world and has sold out in every venue that it has travelled to!
If you loved the film and have never seen this fabulous show live on stage, be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible as you don’t want to miss out. It might not be the happiest show around, but it is undoubtedly one of the best.
