Try Open Water Swimming in Princes Dock During August!

Open Water Swimming Liverpool

If you are feeling inspired by the success of Team GB’s swimmers and Tri-athletes, or just want to give open water swimming a try, then head down to Princes Dock throughout August. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays budding swimmers will be able to test the waters on either a 500m course or a 100m short course.

Organised by WeSwimRun who run open water swimming and running events in North Wales, the course provides competent swimmers with a chance to swim in a unique spot right in the heart of the city.

To buy a ticket you must be able to swim 500m in open water. If you like the idea but don’t feel confident introductory courses are available. Or if 500m is a bit too far you can try your hand on the 100m course. Both courses are clearly marked and offer fab views of the city.

If you are confident swimming without a wet-suit and are used to cold water swimming you can also take a dip but must wear a tow-float.

In addition to the general swimming sessions WeSwimRun are also organising a charity open water swim at Princes Dock called Lakes For Level Water, on 14th August. This is a national event held around the UK and the charity teaches disabled children to swim.
