Plans For New Eureka! Science + Discovery Centre in Merseyside Announced!

Science

Eureka! Science + Discovery Centre (which was formerly going to be called Eureka! Mersey) have released a video as part of their re-brand which celebrates their planned new look as work begins on the site.

The team behind Eureka! hope to create the UK’s leading attraction to inspire young people about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths (otherwise known as STEAM). The attraction will take pride of place at Seacombe Ferry Terminal in Wallasey and is due to open in the Summer of 2022. Definitely something to look forward to!

The attraction has been co-created with young people, the local community and other partners across the region in a bid to breathe new life into key subjects through interactive exhibits and other cool experiences. A whopping £11.75 million is being spent on the new centre with £6.4 million coming from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund.

Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region outlines how valuable the project is to the region;

“Our museums are an integral part of our world-class offer to visitors – and a key reason why our region is the country’s cultural capital. It’s fantastic that the Eureka! team has chosen us for their first outpost.”
