Southport Market has undergone a serious re-vamp and is almost ready to welcome visitors. As well as a stunning feature bar the market will have no less than nine fab local business serving up delicious food for visitors to enjoy.

The Mikhail Group, who are the team behind The Bold Hotel, The Lord Street Hotel and Punch Tarmey’s, are managing the day-to-day running of the bar after Sefton Council went through a tender process last year.

The nine stalls and traders that will take up permanent residence at the market, alongside the bar will be;

  • Blackhurst Butchers
  • 600 degrees (Pizza and Italian)
  • Hector’s Mexicana (Mexican street food)
  • Down and Oot (Canadian steaks, poutine, hot sandwiches)
  • King St. Bakery (Portuguese tarts)
  • Messy Moments (Desserts)
  • Birkdale Pie & Mash (Assorted pies)
  • Allotment (American Burgers)
  • Pitamu (Greek & Mediterranean)

Is your mouth watering yet?!

It is hoped that this new, funky food and drinks space will be popular with locals and visitors alike and will help boost the local hospitality and tourism sectors, after what has been a challenging year for the industry. £1.4 Million has been spent on the market re-vamp as part of Sefton Councils Covid-19 recovery plan.

In addition to food and drink the market will also play host to Makers Markets once a month in their flexible events space. The market is due to open in July (exact date to be confirmed) and you can find out more information on the Southport Market website.
