Exciting things are happening in Bootle, with the transformation of the canalside revving up in time for summer. Everyone involved in the project is working super hard to ensure that the Bootle Canalside on Washington Parade is ready to host various events this summer 2021!
It is hoped that a Food and Drink Festival will take place later in the summer and, looking ahead, a Christmas Market is also planned for later in the year. As part of the regeneration of Bootle, the canalside will pave the way for further development in the town centre.
The work on the canalside is the first phase of Sefton Council’s plans to develop the Bootle New Strand Shopping Centre and surrounding areas. Liverpool Council are also investing in the project.
Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, says;
“Working together, we will breathe new life into Bootle Strand and make a hub for people to meet, shop and socialise once again.”
The people of Bootle have a lot to look forward to, that’s for sure!
